Trust Relationship Failed when logging into a PC

When the trust relationship fails, the computer can no longer authenticate on the domain. To resolve this issue, remove the network cable and log in with the last used account. The computer must be removed from the domain and changed to a workgroup. You must know the local administrator account to be able to log back into the computer. To do so:

1. click Start
2. right click Computer and select Properties
3. In the Properties window, click the Change settings link next to the computer name
4. click the Change button
5. select the Workgroup radio button and give it a name
6. click Ok
7. Accept the warning about knowing the local administrator account
8. click Ok when welcomed to the Workgroup
9. Restart the computer
10. log in as the local administrator

Now the computer can join the domain again. Repeat the above steps except fill in the "Domain" radio button in step 5 and enter the name of the domain. A domain admin account is needed to join the domain. Once it is joined, restart the computer and log in with the standard domain user account as before.
