Stay Safe Online – Be Cautious of Phishing and Scams

Greetings all,

In our ever evolving online world, it is essential to watch out for bad actors posing as someone else online looking to scam you for your company's information. Take this as reminder to exercise caution for phishing emails and cybercriminals trying to scam you online. These scams can cause enormous problems, like hijacked passwords or stolen data setting you and your company back. Here's what to be cautious about and what not to do:

🚩 Look out for these warning signs:
  1. Unusual links that look unusual or are not the sender's usual email
  2. Emails or messages asking for personal details, passwords, or money
  3. Misspelling or grammatical mistakes in the message
  4. Demanding messages like "act now" or "your account will be shut down"

✅ What you should do:
  1. Check the sender's email address
  2. Wait and think twice before opening any links or attachments, does this person usually send you attachments or requests?
  3. Use strong passwords and do not reuse them on sites
  4. If it looks suspicious, alert IT or your supervisor

❌ What NOT to do:
  1. Do not reply to suspicious emails
  2. Do not share passwords or personal details
  3. Do not open unknown links or attachments
We are all accountable for keeping our team safe from cyber threats. If you suspect something or think that you have been sent a phishing email, contact your IT support right away. Be safe out there and stay vigilant!

Warm Regards
